Meet the couple
Amal Jayasinghe
son of Mr & Mrs Ranjith Jayasinghe
An architect who still sketches on napkins, a hopeless cook and the calmest person in any room. He proposed at sunrise because Sarah is not a morning person and he wanted to see her face.
Sarah Fernando
daughter of Mr & Mrs Anton Fernando
A paediatric nurse, the loudest laugh at every table and the reason our flat has forty plants. She said yes before he finished the question, then asked if there was breakfast.
Our story
We met on a rainy Tuesday at a friend's birthday in Nugegoda — Amal arrived late, Sarah had taken his seat, and neither of us moved. Seven years, two cities and one very patient dog later, he asked in the tea fields above Ella. She said yes before he finished.
